FC Carlow (Irish: Cumann Peile Ceatharlach ) is a League of Ireland football club which hails from County Carlow. The club was founded in 2008 and first competed as an U20s team in the League Of Ireland. As a result of the teams success in the competition, the following year, Carlow were granted a senior licence. FC Carlow now compete in the Newstalk A Championship [1], playing their home games at The Meadows. FC Carlow's philosophy is to give talented and committed footballers from the south east an opportunity to play at a national level. Carlow endured a tough debut campaign in the A Championship, finishing in eighth place. FC Carlow enjoyed a much better second season, finishing fourth, just missing out on a promotion place to Cobh Ramblers F.C. In the same season, the Barrowsiders also reached the 3rd round of the FAI Cup, eventually losing 2-1 to Monaghan United F.C. in a replay [2].
